Craps Online | Rules & Gameplay

From the early days of civilisation, playing with dice has been one of the main sources of entertainment. It managed to bring thrills and enjoyment to both the royalty and the peasants. There have been multiple dice games invented, but none has been able to match online craps. Besides bringing suspense and excitement to the players, Craps online is by far one of the most rewarding games, due to the low house edge involved. This results in players developing an urge to try their luck with the dice, and those who try it once, they never want to try any other game!

Essentials of Playing Craps Online

Craps online is very easy to play than it may appear to most of the new players. Through the live casino, the game is played using a pair of dice that’s made either of plastic, bone, ivory or celluloid. The dice have been cut into perfect shapes and are weighed to ensure that they have they are equally balanced and have the same size. They are numbers on their sides with dots which range from 1 – 6 on each side. On the contrary, the craps online software is purely based on software that is responsible for determining the results of the game. This software is fitted with the Random Number Generator, a software that’s responsible for ensuring that each spin is completely random and independent of the outgoing software. This ensures the game’s results are completely randomised!

Craps Online – The Objective

As you play craps online, the first roll of the dice bears a very important significance in the game and usually determined how the game proceeds. Should the numbers *7 or 11 show up on your first dice roll, then you are a winner. However, should you roll the dice to numbers **2, 3 or 12, then you lose your bet.

However, should you roll the dice to numbers ***4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10, then you are required to roll the dice again until the number shows up again – in this case, you win, or the number 7 appears before the point – in which you lose your bet!

Note

  1. *Numbers 7 and 11 are referred to as the ‘Naturals’ in Craps
  2. **Numbers 2, 3, or 12 are referred to as ‘Craps’ in Craps
  3. ***Numbers 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 are referred to as the ‘Point’
  4. The first dice roll is usually referred to as the come out roll

Each winning role for a natural roll or a point is referred to as a pass. The more the number of passes, the more you win as you play craps online. If you are playing in a live casino setting and fail to make a pass, you will turn the dice over to the player next to you and the cycle continues in a clockwise fashion. However, if you are playing the software based game, you can try as many times as you wish, provided you have the funds.

Craps Rules – How Do You Play Craps Online?

The player rolling the dice places a bet that the roll of the dice will either be a ‘natural’ or a point. In the live craps online game, this bet is covered by the banker and the other players seated at the table can choose to be for or against you. Once all the bets have been placed, the dice is rolled. Based on the brief description above, you win or lose your bet if your prediction turns out to be correct.

Different Bets that You Can Place on Craps

There are basically two types of bet that you can place while playing Craps Online; the pass line bet and the don’t pass line bet.

Pass Line Bet

On the come out roll, having a number 7 or 11 wins you the bet; numbers 2, 3, or 12 will see you lose the bet. Any other number will result in a ‘Point’. To win, the point has to be repeated before the #7 rolls. You can repeat as may times as you wish, provided the #7 doesn’t show up before the point number. If it does, the Pass Line Bet loses, and the next player is given an opportunity to bet.

*A pass line bet is a contract bet, i.e.; it cannot be removed, increased, or reduced, once the point has been established until it wins. This is an even money bet and pays off at odds of 1:1

Don’t Pass Line Bet

Just as you might be guessing, the Don’t Pass Line Bet is the complete opposite of the Pass Line Bet. In simple words, you are a winner if the come out roll bet is a 2 or 3. Likewise, should a 7 or 11 show up on the come out roll, you automatically lose the bet! If a 12 shows up, the result is a push, and nobody wins.

*Once a point has been established in a don’t pass line bet, it may be removed or reduced, but may not be increased or placed. It’s also an even money bet and pays off at odds of 1:1

Come Bet

You can place your Come Bet any time after establishing a point on the Pass Line. Whether you win or lose the bet will be determined using the same rules used for the Pass Line Bet. The next roll of the dice will determine whether you’ve won or lost or establish the number which has to be rolled before the #7 to win.

*The Come Bet point is free of the Pass Line point and should you win, the bet pays off at odds of 1:1.

Don’t Come Bet

This is the opposite of the Come Bet. The rules used to determine whether you’ve won or lost in the Don’t Pass Line bet are also used to determine if you are a winner once you’ve placed this bet. The exception, however, is the automatic loss, win and determination of the point that is established by the next roll of the dice. This is also an even money bet and pays off at odds of 1:1.

Odds Bets

Once there’s a point established, you can choose to place an extra bet behind the pass line bet. This type of bet is referred to as the Odds Bet, and it’s the only bet that doesn’t have a house edge as most of the online casinos pay it off with true odds. In fact, most of the Craps Online UK Casinos pay it off at odds of 2× you bet.

Single Roll Bets – Rolling Solo

As you play Craps Online, there are these bets that are normally resolved in just one roll of the dice. They are referred to as the Single-roll/proposition bets and are usually located at the center of the craps table. You can always place a bet on them and win if the outcome you predicted correctly shows up.

Single roll bets include the following:

  • 2 – Also referred to as the Aces or the Snakes Eyes, you win if the dealer rolls the number 2
  • 3 – Also referred to as the Ace-Deuce and you win if the dealer rolls the number 3
  • 12 – Also referred to as the boxcars, cornrows or the midnight and you win if the dealer rolls the number 12
  • 2 or 12 – Also referred to as the Hi-Lo bet and you win if the dealer rolls number 2 or 12. You can place this bet by placing chips on the line dividing numbers 2 and 12
  • Any Craps – Also referred to as the Three Way bet and wins if the dealer rolls numbers 2, 4 or 12
  • C & E – This is a two in one bet and requires you to place half of your bet on craps and the other one on Yo (11). One of these bets always loses, while the other one may win
  • Yo – A Yo bet wins if the dealer rolls number 11. As mentioned, it’s the other half of the C & E bet

Craps Online Game Variations

As already mentioned, Craps Online remains to be one of the popular dice games at the Craps Online UK Casinos. However, there are different variations that you probably don’t know they exist, and we thought we should briefly mention them in addition to the craps rules and bets.

Bank Craps

Also referred to as Las Vegas Craps, this game is popular in Nevada based casinos. All the bets placed are against the house, and the dice is usually thrown over a wire or string that’s been stretched inches from the online craps table’s surface. This game variant has a house edge of 1.4%

Simplified Carps

This variation of craps is very popular online as it has more chances of winning. If you roll a 2, 3, 4, 10, 11 or 12, you are a winner. If you roll a 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9, you lose the bet. The house edge on this game is 2.8%

Crapless Craps

This is a simplified version of the original craps game. It is the most common version online, and you can bet on rolling numbers 2, 3, 11 or 12 before number 7 is thrown
